What you need to know

Before you float.

First time floaters, please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment to fill out a health history form and get settled in.

Avoid Shaving, Waxing or anything that may irritate your skin at least 12 hours before your float.as the salt may cause irritation.
We do provide Vaseline for small cuts from stinging, just ask your Guest Experience Expert if you need some. Freshly coloured hair must have shower water run clear before floating or could damage our pods and damage your hair colour...that would not be fun for either of us.
It is recommended to eat something light before your float and also allowing 30min to digest so that stomach noises don't distract you during your float. We appreciate that females who are experiencing their menstrual cycle the day of their float re-schedule to another time.

If you have a tendency to have swimmers ear, we will provide you with free earplugs for your comfort, please ask your Guest Experience Expert if you need them. Earplugs are also highly recommended for those who wish to have a more sensory elimination float experience.

What to bring.

For optimal sensory reduction, we encourage clients to float nude for the greatest experience. Each room is private and features its own shower and changing area. Of course, feel free to bring a swimsuit if you prefer.

For health and safety reasons, if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, you will not be allowed to float. All you’ll need is a towel and hair brush. We provide facecloths, shampoo & body wash.

Members get to use our big Fluffy towels for Free. Non-Members, if you wish to leave your towel at home, we can provide one for you for a small 2$ donation to our Charity foundation.
Hair Dryers, Lotion and Q-Tips are located in the Change room area, feel free to use them or bring your own if you prefer.

Make sure to add us to your email address book or check your Spam folder for email confirmation and reminder of your appointments with us.
These emails have important information about your visit.

During your float.

Rinse off by taking a quick shower. This will also help exfoliate dead skin cells from your body for optimal magnesium absorption.

Step into the pod which has about 2 feet of water and over 1000 lbs of Epsom Salts.

The Pod lid can remain open or can be closed, whichever you prefer. If you leave the cover open, please be sure to turn on the wall heater so that you do not get cold. The upper part of your body is not under water so will get a bit chilly if the cover is open without the extra heat in the room.

Lights can be turned off or stay on for Chromotherapy and for those who may not feel ready to float in darkness. The light button is located inside the pod.
Push it until you reach your desired setting (one set colour, colour cycle or off.)

If you chose to have music on during your float, we have meditation relaxing music available. You can even bring your own device and plug it right in your Pod Room, if you wish to have a guided meditation, audiobook or your own music right in your Pod
(Please be mindful of volume level should you plug in your own music. If your music is too loud, it could disrupt other people receiving treatments.)

Should you need anything during your float, please push on the black button in the pod, this is an intercom to the front desk and we will be happy to assist you.

Lie back and let the buoyancy of the water fully support you. Move your arms to whatever position is most comfortable for you. We have pool noodles in the float rooms if you wish to have a little extra neck support, but know that the water will support the weight of your head and allow it to float.

There is a spray bottle of fresh water in your pod, should you accidentally splash
salt water in your eyes, it burns (trust us!).
Spray your face with fresh water and wipe with the clean cloth that was provided to you.)

Once your float is over the filter will come on and the water will start to move.
You will feel the cooler air jets and the air bubbles, this is your queue to step out of the pod. Don't worry if you fall asleep, we will let you know via the intercom that your float time is over.

You can have a post float shower and change. All of our soaps are Paraben Free and Eco-Friendly. Then make your way to our prep room where we have hair dryers etc.

We highly recommend that you enjoy our lounge area to relax post float, savour some seasonal tea or even journal about your Float experience.

Drink plenty of water over the next 24 hours. Hydration is always important but even more so with Float Therapy.

Float Therapy benefits go far beyond the Pod. Notice how you feel over the next few days. Are you sleeping better? Feeling more rested and relaxed?

Remember that Floating is a practice, be patient with the process and allow yourself a few Float Sessions to fully experience the benefits of this regular practice. Our Guest Experience Expert will be happy to answer any questions you may have, proceed with your check out and also
book your next visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are your services covered under insurance?
Massage Therapy Treatments:
All of our Massage Therapists are registered with CMTNB and are able to provide certified receipts for those who have Massage Therapy coverage on their extended health care plan. We also offer direct billing with Blue Cross.

Float Therapy:
At this time, most extended health care plans do not cover Float Therapy since there is no practitionner administering the treatment itself. However; because each extended health care plan is unique and different, it is best to call your provider and ask them if Float Therapy / Hydrotherapy would be covered under your specific plan.

Naturopath Consultations:
We now offer Naturopath Consultations along with Treatment Plans to help you on your wellness path.  To get started, book your initial consultation to discuss a treatment plan specific to your unique needs. Please note that if you are looking for a Naturopathic Doctor, we do have partnerships with a few that we are happy to recommend based on your needs.

How is the Float Pod water cleaned?
Kini Wellness complies with stringent health and safety regulations.

The water in the Float Pod is likely the most clean you have ever been in! The water in each Float Pod is mostly salt—a solution which is inherently sterile.
After each float, and anytime the Pod is not in use, our state of the art purification system purifies the water.

Between each session every Float Pod’s water is completely purified 4 times with a 5-micron filter and both Ozone and UV Light technology to purify and disinfect the water.

We follow the same protocol as the amazing people at True Rest Float Spa in the US.

Read more about the benefits of Ozone and UV as purifiers here

Our high standards and commitment to cleanliness ensures that each client will experience a pristine pod and room for each float.
Is Float Therapy Safe During Pregnancy?
Float therapy is very safe and even beneficial during pregnancy, the zero gravity from the buoyancy of the water helps to relax muscles and release tension allowing you to get a great stretch and relaxation experience. Many pregnant women have also said that they love being able to float on their stomach with their head propped up because the belly does not hit the bottom it allows belly sleepers to get that much missed posture.

What about the water temperature? Will it be too hot?
The float pod water is heated at body temperature or very close to it always being between 34-35 degrees celsius. This makes for a sensory deprivation feeling because your body does not feel hot or cold during the float but very neutral, most people who take a bath at home even while pregnant would have the water much hotter than ours.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask. If you look on our Facebook page we have a few reviews/testimonials from pregnant women who have loved their Float Experience.
